On a leisurely evening at your local tavern, surrounded by good beer and close friends, have you ever found yourself wishing you could simultaneously revisit your weird uncle’s wedding reception? If so, you certainly should have spent this past Sunday night at Wunderbar, with Canadian alt-hip hop project Socalled.
Glitchy, yet smooth samples and crunchy beat rolls create rapid motion within a fairly small space.

On a cold, rainy evening this past Saturday, 5 soft-spoken boys from Saskatoon, dressed in flannel with beards unkempt, warmed the hallowed halls of the Royal Alberta Museum.
Paired with Canadian up-and-comers Dinosaur Bones, the unique, and accessible beauty of Ra Ra Riot’s composition oriented pop rang true for patrons of the Avenue Theater.

On the first of a two evening installment at the Starlite Room, three Canadian bands fit the bill perfectly, safe in their home and native land.

A new track from Skrillex, with “Scatta” collaborators Foreign Beggars. I don’t know how he keeps getting better, but it’s happening. I can’t wait to see what he has in store for Sasquatch.
